GNU TeXmacs is a structured editor for technical documents featuring high quality mathematical typesetting and interface to external programs like computer algebra systems. It is written in a mix of C++ and Scheme using Guile. I will present how TeXmacs uses Guile and how the user can enhance and customize TeXmacs using Scheme.
