Thank you everyone! This edition of the 'Journées Perl' as been a great success, and the organisers would like to express their gratitude to all for the excellent presentations we saw, and for such a large audience in spite of the difficult travel conditions. We could not have done it without our generous sponsors, many thanks to them as well. We were delighted to have you all in Lyons, and hope we'll meet again soon! In the meantime, check the videos here.
A conference for whom?
- Professionals: programmers or not, proficient in Perl or other languages will benefit from the expertise of the best Perl programmers and will learn the power of this language when used in large projects.
- Students: why choose a language that is less powerful and less expressive? To learn Perl is to acquire skills allowing you to program in multiple styles.
- Amateurs: will become acquainted with an open and dynamic community!
Some of this year's themes
- Perl 5.10: this new version to be released in September has many new features, many of them coming from Perl 6 development.
- Perl for professionals, by professionals: in-depth coverage of large projects by the people who made them. Perl for sysadmin only? No way!
- Better and faster programming with Perl: how to build complex applications in record time.
Resources and surprises
This year, we shift into high gear: we're inviting "stars" from the European
Perl community, a dinner open to all attendees, job fair, live video broadcast, a great
venue... And many surprises, such as an auction like you've never seen!
Tickets range from 15 to 30 euros for the full two days, and include entry to all
rooms, coffee breaks and lunches, the official t-shirt, and a goodies bag. Also, friday
is free for students!
Call for participation
This conference cannot happen without you. Register as soon as possible! Submit talks, come meet other programmers who want to know your work, learn from your experience, and help you out! The sooner we know how many will attend, the better we can organize the workshop. See you soon!
